      • Participate in the Enterprise Application Development leadership team to staff and oversee the development of the next generation of enterprise class tax accounting and compliance products.
      • Implemented standard test processes across all testing teams. Tuned standard processes for use with traditional waterfall development life cycles, iterative development, and Agile projects.

      Directs the Software Test Engineering team which provides quality assurance services for the fifteen product areas across platforms ranging from Adobe Flex powered SOA implementations through client-server and legacy mainframe implementations.

      Member of leadership team credited with defining strategic product investments and leading engineering for multiple releases of Alcatel-Lucent’s market-dominating and award-winning (Network World Blue Ribbon and ClearChoice Awards) VitalQIP product suite. Beginning at the ground level with a start up company (Quadritek Systems acquired by Lucent in 1998), played key role in fostering continued entrepreneurial spirit that has served as foundation for track record of steady growth to $24 million revenue (product sales, maintenance, and consulting) from a customer base that has expanded to encompass 75% of all Fortune 100 and 36% of all Fortune 500 companies.

      • Directed engineering teams, working closely with Product Management, Services, and Sales, in producing yearly releases of product suite components, including introduction of 4 new products within 18-month time span during 2004 and 2005. As an example, the ENUM Manager product utilized an XML / SOAP interface and was developed utilizing Agile development methodologies to move the product from prototype to production.
      • Increased internal visibility of VitalQIP products and drove strong sales gains by spearheading efforts that integrated products with other Acatel-Lucent solutions, including development of ENUM Manager module that became standard offering (along with VitalQIP) to Acatel-Lucent IMS clients. Developed high-level specifications and teamed with 2 engineers in engineering prototype in just 2 weeks.
      • Devised and led implementation of solution that retrofitted VitalQIP services with an SSL implementation to meet security objectives without having to re-architect all services; ensured full SSL capability of all VitalQIP services, leading team to deliver project on time and with exceptionally high level of quality and security. The VitalQIP services, Windows, and Motif UIs are developed using C++ and is supported on Solaris, Windows, and Linux.
      • Led successful integration of offshore resources within engineering team (including remote U.S. employees), resulting in faster engineering turnaround from offshore “off-hours” QA testing while enabling ability of core team to focus on major product improvements by drawing on Indian resources for tangential development projects.
      • Orchestrated and produced first sale of VitalQIP products to a European service provider in support of an IPv6 international deployment; presented and managed Lucent’s participation in the US IPv6 Summit. VitalQIP 7.0 implemented an AJAX style web interface with a Apache Tomcat J2EE middle-tier. VitalQIP runs against both an Oracle and Sybase RDBMS.
      • The VitalAccess product also utilized Agile development methodologies to allow rapid implementation of functional improvements to allow the product to transition from a triple play (Voice, Video & Data) DOCSIS provisioning product to also support triple play provisioning in DSL environment. VitalAcces was developed utilizing Java servlets with an Oracle RDBMS,
      • Rejuvenated product suite sales growth in the face of increasing competition by leading development of new organization providing more proactive participation in the sales process; improved partner and customer relationships through new initiatives such as customer teleconference training on new product features. Initial efforts reflect nearly a 10% increase in product revenues within the first year of more direct engineering involvement in the sales cycle.

      Advanced through progressive management and executive roles directing engineering and quality assurance of Alcatel-Lucent’s award-winning VitalQIP product suite (12 integrated applications) providing network services and IP address management capabilities to Fortune 100 enterprises and leading service providers. As VP of Engineering, led team of 6 direct and 58 indirect reports across multiple onshore and offshore locations, with full authority for defining product strategic direction and heading the full product development life cycle. Directed teams in all product engineering, quality assurance/control, sales support/product trials, and TL9000 and CMI Level 2 compliance.

      Transferred into newly created Technology Director role to lead cross-functional team of senior engineers working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management departments to increase revenue growth, outpace growing competition, and improve sales support to customers. Develop new product technologies, facilitate product trials, coordinate responses to RFIs and RFPs, and enhance customer and partner relationships. Manage $10 million budget ($24 million revenue) and ensure continued product profitability.
